Hosting an International Scholar/Researcher

When hosting an international scholar, please follow the following steps so that the Center for International Programs can offer the best support:
  1. Contact Tina Manco, Jane Hart, or Amy Anderson to discuss
  2. Complete Request for J-1 Scholar Form
  3. Obtain approval from Department and Dean's Office
  4. Submit to Jane Hart or Tina Manco for processing (with recommended lead time of three months to allow for visa application and travel arrangements for the scholar, as well as internal processes).
Partnership Institutions

Developing new partnerships with other universities
So that the University can benefit the most from its international partnerships, please follow these steps when interested in establishing a University partnership with an international university:
  1. Contact Tina Manco or Amy Anderson to discuss
  2. Complete Partnership Planning Document
  3. Dialogue with potential partner regarding relevant interests, opportunities, and challenges for proposed type of partnership
  4. Review by Education Advisory Board (EAB) for final approval
After these steps have been taken, the Center for International Programs and the faculty member leading the partnership will work together to complete the Memorandum of Understanding between the University of Dayton and the partner institution.


International Exchanges

International Sabbaticals
The Center for International Programs supports faculty members pursuing international sabbaticals in other countries, whether through UD partner institutions or other universities around the world. The CIP can help with obtaining visas, completing paperwork, and with directing you to other resources that help provide housing, set up banking, etc. For more information, contact Tina Manco, Partnership and Exchange Coordinator, at (937) 229-3553 or tina.manco@notes.udayton.edu.
