On campus — Student living communities
Through the International Learning and Living Community, undergraduate students and international students can select to live in a multicultural apartment building on the University's campus. Residents live together and participate in activities that encourage communication and the building of relationships between American and international students. The learning living community provides a unique opportunity to experience the American university culture and share your own culture with American students.

Cost for living in the International Learning and Living Community is $2840 per semester for the 2008-09 school year and options are limited based on availability.

Off-campus apartments
Apartments off the University campus range from $400 to $1000 a month. Most are unfurnished. While these fees sometimes include gas, hot water or electricity, student often pay these fees in addition to the monthly rental fee. Tenants usually must sign a six-month lease. Travel to and from these places may require a car or use of the public transportation system.

If you are planning to look for an apartment after you arrive in Dayton, you should plan to arrive one to two weeks earlier than the arrival date listed on your I-20. Many apartment owners require a deposit equal to one month’s rent PLUS the first month's rent in advance before you can move in.

The ISSS office has compiled a list of off-campus housing to assist students and scholars who are interested in off-campus housing.
