Ohio Driver’s License
If student wish to drive in Ohio, they must obtain an Ohio driver's license within thirty days of their arrival. Students will be required to take a written examination and a driving test.

Students take the written examination at a county test center. They must bring their passport, visa, I-94, I-20, and university identification card. The examination is in several foreign languages. Students may tell the examiner that they wish to take the examination in their native language. Driver's license study manuals are available from the Activities and Programming Assistant and at the Ohio Motor Vehicle examination centers. The manuals are written in English and Spanish.

The driving test is administered at the test center. Students must make an appointment for this test. The examiner will evaluate their ability to drive on the street and to park safely.

The Huber Heights Driver Examination Station (test center) is located at 6134 Chambersburg Road in Huber Heights. It is open Tuesday through Saturday. Call (937) 236-1763 for hours of operation or to schedule a driving test.

Automobile insurance
Students must have adequate automobile insurance to drive their car. There are several insurance companies available near the university. The Coordinator for International Student and Scholar Services can help locate a provider.
