Greg Mortenson at Wittenberg University
Mortenson is the co-author of "Three Cups of Tea", and his work has resulted in the building of fifty-five schools in Pakistan and Afghanistan. His mission is to "Promote Peace...One School at a Time."

This year we celebrate the incomparable beauty and diversity of Indonesia. Join us as we explore the geography, history, art, music, cuisine and more of this vast and varied country. Held annually in Middletown, Ohio, Middfest has celebrated a different country each year since 1981. UD Arts Series: The Avant-Garde Crossroads of Art & Music, Ballet Mécanique
A lecture by Guy Livingston. Livingston, an American-born pianist who makes his home in Paris, is one of the foremost experts on George Antheil, the radical composer and would-be collaborator of the painter Leger. Livingston will discuss Antheil as well as other avant-garde musicians and artists in the 1920s in Paris. FREE.

View the music documentary "Bad Boy Makes Good" on Monday, October 12, 8 pm, in Sears Recital Hall. The film traces the tumultuous life and work of American composer George Antheil, focusing on his notorious staging of Ballet Mécanique in Paris, which provoked cheers, jeers and even a riot.

UD Arts Series: Guy Livingston, "One Minute More"
Pianist Guy Livingston's performance is no traditional concert: This contemporary collection of one-minute pieces, accompanied by video projections, adds up to a virtuoso evening. Featuring music from 60 different composers, "One Minute More" promises to be one of the most provocative and entertaining events of the season.
Art Series Tickets: $14; $8 UD faculty, staff, alumni and non-UD students; $5 UD students. Tickets can be purchased through the Kennedy Union Box Office at 937-229-2545 or online.
