JUNE 2008

6-12
Holly
The indie drama starring Ron Livingston, Chris Penn, Virginie Ledoyen, Udo Kier and introducing Thuy Nguyen, was shot in Cambodia on the backdrop of child trafficking and child prostitution. As a result of the film, the producers have established a global human rights campaign titled Redlight Children that aims to reduce the number of children sold and trafficked to prostitution each year.

The story: Patrick (Ron Livingston), an American card shark and dealer of stolen artifacts, has been 'comfortably numb' in Cambodia for years, when he encounters Holly (Thuy Nguyen), a 12-year-old Vietnamese girl, in the K11 red light village. The girl has been sold by her impoverished family and smuggled across the border to work as a prostitute. Holly's virginity makes her a lucrative prize, and when she is sold to a child trafficker, Patrick embarks on a frantic search through both the beautiful and sordid faces of the country, in an attempt to bring her to safety.

On June 6 at 8:00 pm, there will be a special screening of Holly followed by a q&a discussion with Writer/Producer Guy Jacobson. Jacobson risked his life to make this film possible, and wrote the screenplay based on his actual experiences while backpacking through Cambodia.

Also playing June 7 through June 12 at 3:00pm and 7:30pm
