Financial Aid and Scholarships Preparing for your trip abroad includes examining the costs involved from tuition to travel expenses. With some careful planning, most students can afford an education abroad experience. Tuition costs for University summer programs and other exchange programs are equivalent to UD tuition. Tuition for affiliate programs varies by program. In addition to tuition, students must consider room and board in the host country, international travel, and personal expenses. (Room and board is part of the costs for UD’s summer programs.) Scholarships A number of scholarship programs are specifically designed to encourage University of Dayton students to include an international program in their course of studies. Financial Aid In some cases, federal or institutional aid may be used for summer study abroad. Tuition remission is applicable for most UD summer study abroad programs. For semester study abroad, federal loans and grants may be applied to most programs; scholarships may be applied to UD exchange programs. Students should consult the Office of Financial Aid at finaid@udayton.edu or (937) 229-4411 to review individual packages and options. Any student requesting financial aid for summer study abroad must submit an approved Study Abroad Financial Aid Form by March 1. Forms are available at orientation sessions and at the Education Abroad Office, located in Alumni Hall 118. |
