CIP Summer 2010 Programs

Buenos Aires — A Fusion of Cultures, A Passion of Ideas
May 19-June 18, 2010

Highlights
Buenos Aires, which celebrates its bicentennial in 2010, is one of Latin America’s most elegant and vibrant cities, and is known for its cultural diversity and dynamic atmosphere. A large immigrant population creates a fascinating blend of European and South American influences. Argentina continues to play a major role in shaping important debates surrounding the world economy and the emergence of international human rights. This program will focus on Buenos Aires through politics, language, literature and the arts. Studying in Buenos Aires will allow students to experience and learn about the complex political dynamics that underscore these ideas and trends in international relations. Additionally, students will engage with the culture of Buenos Aires, experiencing the allure of the tango, and attending musical and theatrical performances, as well as exploring the natural beauty of Argentina as part of planned excursions.
