Education Abroad: Policy and Process The University of Dayton Center for International Programs is committed to the safety of our students. Please review this information carefully to understand the policies and processes that have been put in place to ensure this safety. The following statements pertain to any and all University-sponsored international program. Travel Registry All University of Dayton students participating in an education abroad program must complete the online Travel Registry before leaving the United States. Go to https://travel.udayton.edu/ to complete the registry. Medical insurance All students participating in a University of Dayton education abroad program are required to have medical insurance. Students will receive an International Student Identity Card (ISIC) which provides supplemental medical insurance including medical evacuation and repatriation. However, students should check with their primary insurance carrier to assure adequate coverage for accident, illness or long-term disability while abroad. Where this coverage is not provided, students are responsible for obtaining appropriate coverage. Standards of behavior The Center for International Programs wants every student to have an academically and personally rewarding education abroad experience. The University of Dayton expects that students, while participating in a study abroad program, will demonstrate basic civility, decency and respect for one’s self and for others in accordance with UD’s Catholic and Marianist heritage. While overseas, students are expected to adhere to the University Standards of Behavior. Discipline records will be checked on a regular basis, and the Center will withdraw a student before or during a program due to negative behavior. |
